Savills launches Business Sales division in Christchurch

Savills Christchurch has launched a new Business Sales division headed by Norman Engel.

Savills Christchurch has launched a new Business Sales division headed by Norman Engel, who has joined the company from NAI Harcourts.

Mr Engel is an experienced business broker who has over 15 years’ experience in business consultancy and sales, primarily working with small and medium-sized enterprises across a variety of industries.

Ryan Geddes, Managing Director of Savills Christchurch, says adding business sales to the company’s existing range of capabilities provides a strong additional service that is in demand among its clients.

“Adding business sales to our suite of services has always been part of our long term strategic growth plans. Providing business brokerage in-house allows us to meet our clients’ requirements for this service alongside our existing capabilities, which include commercial & industrial sales and leasing, valuation, project management and residential project marketing,” he says.

“We’re thrilled to have now recruited Norman, who brings valuable experience in business brokerage, to head up our new business sales division and we’re looking to grow the team with more hires.”

Mr Engel says the opportunity to join a well-established global property company with depth of experience across multiple service lines in Christchurch was a strong drawcard.

“There are many synergies between business sales and commercial property sales & leasing which can be leveraged to provide a high quality, efficient and seamless service to clients,” he says.

“In many cases, the divestment of a business also means clients need to rationalise or sell property related to the business, so being able to offer them property services from Savills expert multi-disciplinary team as a one-stop shop is a highly compelling opportunity.”

Mr Engel has worked with a large number of business owners throughout New Zealand and has a strong track record in assisting clients to maximise value from their business sales, partly through the use of innovative marketing techniques. Among his particular areas of specialty are the hospitality and construction sectors.
